My husband absolutely loves tuna salad. If I forget to make it for him he starts trying to make it himself by mixing tuna and mayo together!
I created this recipe before I even had this cooking blog and it’s got some of my favorite ingredients in it: lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce. This recipe is one of the very first original recipes I ever created and I hope you love it as much as I do.
Tuna Salad Ingredients
3 cans of white albacore tuna
1 apple (Fuji or Honeycrisp are my favorites)
1/2 red onion
1 stalk of celery
2/3 cup mayonnaise
1 tsp lemon juice
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp fresh ground pepper (a few turns of the pepper grinder)
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1/8 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp brown sugar
2 tbsp fresh chopped cilantro
Instructions
- drain tuna and place in a medium bowl
- chop red onion and celery in the food processor & then add to bowl
- chop the apple with a knife into small chunks and add to the bowl
- Add lemon juice, Worcestershire, brown sugar, cilantro and seasonings, and stir
- serve as a sandwich or on top of greens
