This serrano pepper hummus is delicious! It’s got a little bit of heat and a hint of garlic and citrus. I added lots of tahini to this recipe to make the hummus extra creamy and smooth! This dish has wow factor! I’m excited to make it as often as I can!
Serrano Pepper Hummus Ingredients
1 can of chickpeas
1/4 cup tahini
2 tbsp fresh lime juice
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 tsp minced garlic
3/4 tsp salt
2 pinches paprika
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tbsp finely diced serrano peppers
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Instructions
- mix all ingredients except the serrano peppers and olive oil together in a food processor until smooth, add 1-2 tsp of water as needed if you want it less chunky
- place hummus in a small bowl and put the serrano peppers on top in the center
- pour the olive oil on top & sprinkle with paprika
- serve with homemade pita bread, cucumber slices, or carrot sticks
- if you refrigerate for 24 hours before serving the flavors will be more delicious!
