This recipe for bagel breakfast sandwich option #3: caramelized onions, egg & Chèvre, is so fabulous! I had an idea to create this and it turned out even better than I imagined it would! The secret is the flavor combo of the caramelized onions and apples with the chèvre! Combined with some fresh basil it’s unbelievably delicious!
Bagel Breakfast Sandwich with Caramelized Onions, Egg & Chèvre Ingredients
1 quinoa bagel
1/3 cup caramelized onions and apples
2oz chevre
5 basil leaves
1 egg
2 tbsp butter
garlic powder
salt
Instructions
- toast the bagel, butter the bagel, sprinkle the bagel with garlic powder and a little salt – set aside
- fry an egg over easy, place the chèvre on top, and cover the frying pan with its lid until the cheese is melted
- place caramelized onions and apples on the bottom bagel bun, egg with cheese on top next, add more garlic powder and salt, add basil leaves, place bun on top, and cut in half
