This recipe for fried wild rice is much healthier than regular fried rice. It goes great with chicken, tofu, and veggies! If you’ve never tried wild rice before I highly recommend it! Wild rice is a whole grain and is very good for you! It tastes absolutely delish and it’s very beautiful too!
Fried Wild Rice Ingredients
1 cup wild rice
2 cups water
1 tbsp coconut oil
1/16 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp sesame oil
2 tbsp teriyaki sauce
1 can stir-fry vegetables (I like Sun Luck brand)
1 egg
garnish: chopped green onion
Instructions
- add the wild rice and water to the rice cooker and cook until done
- taste the rice, if it’s still too crunchy and undercooked add more water and continue to cook, taste again… when it’s soft but a little crunchy it’s done!
- pour the wild rice into a stock pot and mix in the coconut oil, teriyaki sauce, sesame oil, and cayenne pepper
- heat pot and toss the rice until it sizzles
- open the can of stir-fry veggies and drain the liquid out, pour veggies into the pot, stir
- crack the egg and pour it into the stock pot, stir continuously on medium-high heat until the egg is fully cooked
- pour the fried wild rice into a serving dish, garnish with chopped green onion
