I love to make this white bean hummus for my fiance, Carl. He loves all of my hummus recipes but this one is his favorite. He said he likes the flavor and the sweetness that comes through. It’s a beautiful hummus that is much lighter in color than chickpea hummus. I put avocado on top but you could do roasted garlic or marinated olives, anything you like! I hope you love this recipe!
White Bean Hummus Ingredients
1 can of great northern beans
1/4 cup tahini
2 tbsp fresh lime juice
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 tsp minced garlic
3/4 tsp salt
2 pinches paprika
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
optional: garnish with 1/2 sliced avocado & drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, sprinkle with Nanami Togarashi
Instructions
- mix all ingredients except the avocado in a food processor until smooth, add 1-2 tsp of water as needed if you want it less chunky
- place hummus in a small bowl and put the avocados on top in the center
- drizzle with extra virgin olive oil on top & sprinkle with Nanami Togarashi or paprika
- serve with homemade pita bread, cucumber slices, or carrot sticks
- if you refrigerate for 24 hours before serving the flavors will be more delicious!
