This recipe for bagel breakfast sandwich option #1: bacon, egg, swiss & avocado is off the chain good! My fiance about flipped when I made this for him and said it was one of the best things I’ve ever cooked.

I grew up in Ohio and although it’s not New York.. bagels were always a huge deal everywhere I went. My younger brother even worked as a bagel baker and one of my neighbors became a manager of a bagel bakery. My first job was at a restaurant and on my lunch breaks, I would go and get a bagel sandwich at the strip mall across the street. I’ve lived all over the world and I haven’t seen as many bagels as when I lived in Ohio. My love for bagels has followed me to Oregon and now I am coming up with some exciting recipes for bagel sandwiches. These are store-bought bagels but I hope to post an original recipe for making bagels someday soon. Bagel Breakfast Sandwich Ingredients

1 jalapeno cheese bagel
1 sandwich-sized slice of swiss cheese
1 egg
1/2 avocado sliced
2 pieces of bacon
2 tbsp butter
garlic powder
salt

Instructions

  1. toast the bagel, butter the bagel, sprinkle the bagel with garlic powder and a little salt – set aside
  2. fry an egg over-easy, place the cheese on top, and cover the frying pan with its lid until the cheese is melted
  3. place bacon on the bottom bagel bun, avocado next, egg with cheese on top next, add more garlic powder and salt, place bun on top, and cut in half
