Do you love garlic butter naan? Me too! Whenever I order Indian food I always get an order just for myself to dip in the sauce! If I had to choose between rice and naan I would always pick naan.. especially garlic butter naan! But, I usually get rice too! Anyhow.. this recipe for garlic butter naan is incredible. I made it recently and it was so good that my fiance and I made a second batch late at night for a snack! He said he could eat it every single day. Now, that’s a great recipe! I hope you love it too!
Ingredients (makes 6 pieces)
2 1/8 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 1/4 tsp sugar
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp olive oil
1 1/4 cup coconut milk
Butter Sauce
3/4 stick butter
3 tsp minced garlic
3 tbsp fresh chopped cilantro
Instructions
- mix all of the dry ingredients for the naan together in a mixing bowl
- microwave the wet ingredients for 30 seconds and stir slowly into the bowl until combined
- form into a ball and knead for several minutes, set aside for 30 minutes with a wet kitchen towel on top of the bowl
- melt butter in the microwave and stir in garlic
- take dough out of the mixing bowl and cut into 6 even-sized pieces. Roll each piece out with a rolling pin to be about the width of 2 hands
- using medium heat warm the skillet and cook each piece of naan for a minute and then flip it over. Continue this process until the bread is fully cooked. Brush butter over the entire surface of the naan (both sides) and then put on a plate. Ganish with fresh cilantro
- repeat for the remaining 5 pieces of naan
Tips: you can brush the butter every time you flip the bread for a really delicious flavor. Don’t be afraid to add more butter and more garlic if you love it!
